A Morning Autumn Walk

Morning Autumn Walk

It is no secret that I love Autumn. Living in the countryside I notice a lot when the seasons change, in Spring I see animals being born, Summer I hear loads of children playing down the local park and in Winter I see a skyline of twinkling Christmas lights. Autumn is always so peaceful for me, there seems to be a bit of calm before December begins and everyone is frantic to get everything sorted for the 25th. Now I love going for walks anyway but in Autumn despite the fact that Halloween is at the end of the month, there is a sense of eeriness. Fog tends to flood the landscape, the floor is paved with dead leaves and there is a chill in the air. But I love every bit of it, popping on my coat and boots and going for a morning walk is so refreshing, so I want to bring you with me.

This local church always feels a little bit spooky but when the sun is trying to break through the clouds in the morning, I think it is so beautiful to look at.

On an autumn morning you find yourself walking on a fresh batch of leaves, similar to walking on a new fall of snow in the winter. I absolutely love that crisp feeling under my feet, just try to avoid the wet leaves which you can occasionally slip on (that has happened to me numerous times).

This plant below reminds me so much of Christmas with the green and red together. Just thought I would point out that I know if you live in a city, you might find it harder to go on walks due to traffic, people, just general city life. For me when I lived in the city I would always try to walk to a local park or along the riverside just to get some countryside back in my life. Just explore your city, I think places you live always look different at certain times of the day and I always liked early mornings because it was much quieter.

Despite all of the dead colourful leaves there are still so many flowers around bright with colour, which I think is really nice to see. The yellow ones are my favourite.

Personally I like a bit of time to sit down and take everything in. Early mornings are the best times to just get out of the house and get some fresh air. You do not need to worry about make up, what your wearing, or what soundtrack to listen to on your iPod. It is a chance just to listen and hear what is going on around you. Nobody bothers me at this time, the only people I see are a few dog walkers saying good morning. I don't need to worry about emails, work, checking my texts, it is the quietest time of the day for me where I can just get some me time.

Hope you enjoyed this post, sometimes I like being a little picture heavy because I feel like it explains more than I can in words. I really recommend just going for a morning walk or run, it starts your day off on a good path. Sometimes I let little things get to me, I bottle them up and stay indoors to avoid doing anything. But a bit of fresh air and a peaceful moment gives you that clear head to think properly and to see what is going on around you.
After I come back home I make myself a coffee with two sugars and start the day feeling positive (unless I got rained on and have frizzy hair ;))

I would love to know if you are a fan of early mornings? and if you enjoy the autumn weather? Let me know in the comments!

Have a great weekend!

  3. Looks like such a nice place to take a walk! I would LOVE to go on early morning walks but I am too afraid to go by myself lol and whenever I ask my husband he always says no... well he doesn't actually say no, but he is dead asleep and doesn't respond... so that might as well be a no lol Hopefully one day I'll get him to wake up early and we can go on a walk together :)

    1. Haha I love this! Too funny :D Aww I completely understand about being afraid, sometimes I get freaked out by tree shadows haha, you will just have to set an alarm for him, or you could just settle on afternoon/evening walks together, hopefully he will be wide awake then ;P Elle x
