January Playlist

January Playlist 2016

Save My Soul // JoJo
I have mentioned another song of hers in a previous playlist but I am obsessed with singing this song at the moment. I can't even sing so I definitely don't do the song justice but I have loved JoJo's trilogy she brought out last year and you can hear how much her voice has grown since the Leave (Get Out) days. You can tell that this song is close to her heart and if you watch the video make sure you read the description bar because I find it really moving with her explanation of the song.

Hotel California // Eagles
So many great people have died this month and in music especially it has been a great loss. Due to Glenn Frey passing away I naturally have been listening to Eagles music and have had this song on repeat in the car. It's such a classic song with the most amazing electric guitar ending, the video is a link to them playing it live in the 70's which I love watching. Funny enough I have never really understood what this song is about but it is one of those great great songs that will continue to be played.

B. Pure Micellar Oil

B. Pure Micellar Oil

Over the years I have tried a lot of different cleansers from high end to drugstore and I definitely have decided that oil cleansers are my favourite to use. Personally I find oil cleansers to be the best at getting my make up off, whether it be a small amount or a full waterproof smokey eye look. They always seem to me to take the less time to completely remove the make up. Whilst in Superdrug I saw that within the B. range they now had there own micellar oil and I was keen to try it out. Here are my thoughts on the product.

Healthy Vegan Hot Chocolate

Vegan Hot Chocolate

Now I have always considered hot chocolate as being a bit of a treat on the weekend. Whether it be to warm me up on a cold evening or to indulge on in the middle of the day, it can always give me a little chill out moment to feel good. However I now (especially throughout winter) drink them more regularly but have found a much healthier version that you can drink more often and is completely vegan.

10 Classic Quotes I Love

10 Classic Quotes I Love

Reading quotes I find really therapeutic, sometimes you can read a quote and feel really empowered which just proves the importance of words. I find quotes are kind of like free counselling, the amount of times I might have been in a bad mood or faced a tough decision, read a quote and then suddenly felt a lot better. So here are some of my favourite classic quotes which I love reminding myself of.

Food I Used To Hate But Now Love

Food I Used To Hate But Now Love

They often say that as you get older your taste changes and foods that you used to dislike are now something you either love or tolerate. I wondered if this was true for myself and I discovered that there were definitely some food items that I really disliked but now eat/drink on a regular basis. These are the items that I now love to eat.

Rosie For Autograph Nuit Parfum

Rosie For Autograph Nuit Parfum

One of my favourite beauty products to shop for is perfume. My collection is constantly growing not only because of the beautiful bottles but because different scents appeal to me. I rarely stick to the same perfume for a long period of time, especially in the different seasons I like to switch it up. Whilst on a food shopping trip to Marks and Spencer, I ended up in the nightwear section of the store and I noticed this perfume on a stand. These are my thoughts on the Rosie For Autograph Nuit Parfum.

Vegan Lemon Cake

Vegan Lemon Cake

Most people like a nice piece of cake to treat themselves to every so often and that doesn't mean that being a vegan stops you from having that indulgence. One of my favourite flavours is lemon, so a delicious lemon cake is something I couldn't refuse, but this recipe is easy to interpret if you wanted it to have another fruity flavour. Whether you want to try it out for yourself or are making it for a vegan friend, here is the recipe.

Treacle Moon My Coconut Island Body Butter

Treacle Moon My Coconut Island Body Butter

I guess you would say we are in the depths of winter now in the UK although apart from the odd chilly evening it hasn't felt much like winter, it has felt a bit more like monsoon season due to all the rain we have had. Despite this, the temperature has definitely dropped and because of that my skin is at risk of being dry. After a bath/shower it is even more important to make sure you are putting that hydration back into your skin. One day on a quick shopping spree for essentials I came across the Treacle Moon My Coconut Island Body Butter and here are my thoughts on it.

Vegan Cheese Sauce

Vegan Cheese Sauce Recipe

When making the transition from vegetarian to vegan the last thing I had to give up was cheese. Cheese was my faithful friend that would make a dish complete or would give me a vegetarian option on a meat filled menu at a restaurant. It was the one thing I knew I would grieve when I turned vegan and so I wanted to find something that fitted the void. One of my favourite dishes was macaroni cheese and so I wanted to be able to make a sauce that would help create my favourite dish. So this is my vegan cheese sauce recipe.

Keeping A Sleep Pattern

Keeping A Sleep Pattern

Sleep should never be overrated because apart from the fact we need sleep to function and survive, it also is a gift we should cherish. When you have had a good nights sleep you feel amazing and if you haven't, you tend to feel terrible. Like most children growing up I had a bedtime, when I got to my teenage years the bedtime grew later and when I became a university student it was non existent. For a lot of my university years I slept in the day and was awake at night. I became a night owl and that was the time I wrote 80% of all my university work, whilst most people were sleeping at 4am, I would be wide awake. I felt I was the most productive at night and whilst it was convenient at the time, it became a shock when I suddenly was in the world of having a job that started at 9 and finished at 6. I had to have a proper sleep pattern back in my life as I did as a child and so I quickly adapted. When holiday comes around or even the weekends I can often drift back to my lazy ways. So here are a few tips that help me stick to my sleeping pattern.

White Rabbit Skincare Chocolate Orange Lip Balm

White Rabbit Skincare Chocolate Orange Lip Balm

If the question ever comes up of what 3 things you would want with you on a desert island? I seriously consider lip balm to potentially be one of those 3 things. Lip Balm was probably the first piece of skincare I ever owned and they usually were different scented balms from The Body Shop. Whilst a lot of lip balms claim to do amazing things I really just wanted a lip balm that had all natural ingredients and that is how I came across White Rabbit Skincare.

The Best of 2015

The Best of 2015

Favourite Book // The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
I remember this came out early 2015 and soon after hearing multiple reviews of how good it was I bought it and read it all in less than a day. From start to finish I was hooked. It was gripping and a perfect thriller that was easy to follow, but left you wanting to learn more about the characters involved. The story felt very realistic to me in terms of the surroundings and the fact that I regularly travel by train I kind of felt even more connected to the story. It was a no brainer for me that this was most definitely my favourite book of 2015, a real page turner.
