Dr Organic Aloe Vera Concentrated Cream

Dr Organic Aloe Vera Concentrated Cream

One of my newest favourite ingredients in skincare is Aloe Vera, I have fallen in love with the scent and find it really refreshing. Like many people in the colder months I use a lot of moisturiser and I sometimes find it really difficult to find one that can keep my skin hydrated throughout the day and especially under make up. I picked up this Aloe Vera Concentrated Cream from the Dr Organic Range recently and here are my thoughts on it.

This is the first product I have ever tried from the Dr Organic range and so I was interested to see how it would work on my skin. It is important to note that I have normal/combination skin but it is super sensitive, so even a product with a strong fragrance can irritate my skin. I actually prior to buying this knew nothing about this particular product which is strange for myself, as I usually research most things before buying them. This is what I would call an all in one product because even though you can use it on your face, it isn't called a facial moisturiser and can be used anywhere on your body. Although I wouldn't personally use it as an all over body butter because you only have a small pot of it.

The packaging itself, actually comes with outer card packaging with all the information, but within it is a glass pot of the product with a screw lid. Now this is personal preference as some people like a moisturiser to have a pump or a squeezy tube, especially if you are using it on your face. But it doesn't really bother me, I just always make sure I have clean hands before using to stop bacteria. I really like the packaging, it looks simple and a little clinical which I guess fits in with the name Dr Organic. You have a lot of great organic products in this cream, like Aloe Vera, citrus oils and sweet almond. But it also has none of those nasty parabens or preservatives.

One of the main reasons I bought this was because it states on the outer packaging that it is a rich restorative cream. I don't suffer with oiliness so for me I can use this day and night, it is a rich cream so you might consider it as a night cream but I find it really lightweight on my face. What I like about this product and I think it has something to do with the Aloe Vera, it feels really refreshing and immediately sinks into my skin. I don't have this tacky feeling, so in the mornings I don't have to wait 15 minutes before applying make up like a lot of other facial moisturisers I use. It also kind of looks slightly matte after I have applied it, so it looks shiny at first but after it sinks in makes my face look a little matte.

The scent I love, it has a mix of subtle Aloe Vera with lemon zest which for someone whose favourite scent is lemon I adore it. The only thing that I do not like is that after I apply it sometimes it feels a little tight on my skin. I feel like it is something to do with the ingredients to cool your skin down or something, but after the product has sunken in there is no problem. It is an odd sensation to explain but I promise it isn't making my skin dry or not giving it the hydration it needs, it is just the first 5 minutes after applying it feels a little strange, kind of like when cold wind hits your face.

Due to it having the Aloe Vera which soothes skin I think this would be really good if you had any redness or blemishes, basically irritated skin. On the box it states it is fine to use on scaring, uneven skin tone and sun exposed skin. But ultimately it does a really great job at hydrating your skin because it is so rich. I have been using this now for a month and my skin has changed a great deal. Not only does it feel super soft it just looks a lot more clearer and fresh, it has subtly improved my skin tone so it looks more even.

Finally the brand is cruelty free and most of the products are vegan (this one is), however they will have a label to state whether it is suitable for vegans. I bought this from Holland & Barrett for £7.99 which I would gladly repurchase when it has run out. As a moisturising cream that you can use on your face and on the rest of your body I think it is a great versatility product to have in my skincare collection. I found it great at targeting any dehydrated areas of my face and making it feel nice and nourished in the morning.

Have you tried this product before, or anything from the Dr Organic Range? Let me know in the comments!
